Is Dermaplaning Right for You?

Is Dermaplaning Right for You?

So, you keep hearing about Dermaplaning and how great it makes your skin feel… but is it the right treatment for you?

Let’s look at a few characteristics of the ideal candidate:

  • Concerned with anti-aging
  • Concerned with acne scarring, large pores, and congestion
  • Feels that skin looks dull even after applying skincare/makeup
  • Has dry skin that doesn’t seem to absorb moisturizing products
  • Concerned with fine lines (smile lines, crows feet, elevens)
  • Concerned with sun spots/ hyperpigmentation
  • Skin lacks plumpness, elasticity, and glow

Who is Dermaplaning not right for?

  • Those experiencing an active acneic breakout (we would love to recommend some homecare products to help calm any inflammation and schedule for a future Dermaplane treatment!)
  • Those who are not able to stay out of the sun directly after treatment
  • Those who experience Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)

So what does a Dermaplane treatment entail?

Dermaplaning is a deep exfoliating treatment that includes the use of a surgical-grade blade to gently remove the dull surface layer of skin, leaving the face deeply clean and ready to absorb products at a more effective level.

This means that any serums you use in the 2-3 weeks following your treatment will penetrate the skin at a deeper level, maximizing their benefits.

By removing the layer of skin cells and peach fuzz from the face, we are able to remove any trapped oils and debris that may be causing uneven skin tone or texture. This treatment is extremely effective when we add a brightening or tightening serum or masque during your appointment.

Dermaplaning promotes cell turnover and stimulates collagen production, plumping the skin and diminishing the signs of aging (fine lines + wrinkles)!

All of our DermaplanePro Treatments include a double cleanse, Dermaplane Treatment, Papaya Enzyme Peel, Oxygen Treatment, moisturizing sunscreen, and homecare recommendations. This treatment is effective and relaxing, as we also include steam towels, light massage, and a calming spa atmosphere.
