Emotional wellness means checking in with our thought patterns, and seeing where we can be a little kinder. 

Affirmations are a great way to focus the mind on positive thoughts, and can be used as a tool when negative thought patterns present themselves. Next time you find yourself ruminating on any stories that aren't productive or kind, try reciting these encouraging phrases to yourself:

"I am doing my best, and that is enough."

"I am worthy of the good things in my life."

"I have endless compassion to share."

Compassion, grace, and a sense of humor are the most important qualities we can have when we are thinking about our tendency to judge ourselves and others. Just because you think something, doesn't mean it's true! Try repeating an affirmation the next time a harsh thought comes us.
